I walked right through the Viridian Forest not getting into any battles at all, I picked up the Pokeball and Antidote in the forest and only had to battle that one stray bug catcher with the level 9 weedle at the end. Then it was off to the Viridian Forest, right before I picked up a Pidgey and named it Falkner promptly, to be my second HM slave. ( I'm sure those will come in handy since I'm not using a Poison type).
Coming back I recieved a pokedex and went back out to buy some Poke-balls and Antidotes. I then left and got Professor Oak's package and thanked them kindly. ( I figured that I'm using psychic so my rival should be it's weakness) He had a squirtle of course my mortal enemy and after a few scratches to Squirtles face, my Charmander was the victor. I had forgot how annoying the first part of Pokemon was, so I started off by grabbing the potion in my PC, and then leaving my house, as Professor Oak greated me and told me about the world of Pokemon I took my Chamander named Pyro and started to battle my rival Bugsy. I just love Grass Pokemon, and other then that I would always choose water pokemon, anyways after transfering all my pokemon to my Stadium game I started a fresh Red version game. I always started with Bulbasaur and Squirtle every pokemon game. I haven't decided yet, but I think I will just think to straight psychics and a few HM slaves.
So, today I am starting the Mono-Challenge for Psychic types. I'll most likely use Muk, but may drop Golbat for Weezing, since he's alot more useable. Then, drop Queen once I get a second Body Slam TM from Yellow(i'm on Blue) so I can teach Nidoking, and then dropping Venemoth for Tentacruel. Gonna add Gengar, then once I can get it, I'll add Venemoth for Sabrina and Koga. Golbat lvl 28 - Leech Life, Supersonic, Bite, Confuse Ray Nidoqueen lvl 27 - Body Slam, Scratch, Poison Sting, Bubble Beam Nidoking lvl 26 - Thrash, Horn Attack, Poison Sting, Water Gun Ivysaur lvl 30 - Razor Leaf, Vine Whip, Tackle, Leech Seed So it's a good idea to wipe out BOTH gyms, and paths to Fuchia(I CANNOT spell that) first usually.
#POKEMON LIGHTNING YELLOW GET THUNDERBADGE BUT CANNOT FLY PLUS#
Plus if you're playing Yellow, she only has Abra, Kadabra, and Alakazam if I recall. I got a Dratini and I wanted a Dragonair so that it could get exp from her gym, so yeah. I did use to beat Sabrina before him, though, but when you have like 5 different pokémon to level up (well, I guess it depends on their species), you want to take all the experience you've got. That's my reason for beating Koga first, anyway. If I remember right Sabrina's gym has slightly higher levels, so it's nice to wipe out all the lower-levelled trainers first. Yeah, you know the paths leading to Koga (that one bridge area with a ton of trainers standing around in a maze-like thing at the bottom?) Most of their pokémon range from 20s-30s.
